LACTITOL
Lactitol, also known as lactose sorbitol, is a disaccharide alcohol sweetener derived from lactose. Its chemical nature is 4-O-β-D-galactopyranose-D-sorbitol. It is a white crystal or colorless liquid with a refreshing taste similar to sucrose without aftertaste. Its sweetness is about 40% of sucrose of the same concentration, and it is suitable for adding to low-sweetness foods. Lactose Chemicalbook alcohol does not exist in nature. It is made by hydrogenating and reducing the glucose group in lactose. It is highly soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol.
