Crocin, also known as crocin and crocin, is a series of ester glycosides formed by crocetin, a water-soluble carotene compound of saffron, combined with different sugars. It is one of the main active ingredients of saffron, including crocin-1, crocin-2, crocin-3, crocin-4 and crocetin. It has the pharmacological effects of lowering central blood pressure, preventing and treating atherosclerosis, anti-thrombosis, anti-platelet aggregation, anti-myocardial ischemia, anti-inflammatory and treatment of soft tissue injuries, choleretic liver protection, and anti-tumor. It is widely used in food, pharmaceutical, chemical and other industries, and is mostly used clinically in the treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases and fatty liver.
