The phenolic compounds in medium and low temperature coal tar are mainly low-grade phenols. Chemical extraction can be used to extract low-grade phenols as chemical raw materials. The fractions after extracting low-grade phenols will be excellent raw materials for hydrogenation to produce high cetane number diesel.
Medium and low temperature coal tar can be used to produce diesel, gasoline and other automotive engine fuel oils and chemicals after hydrogenation.
High temperature coal tar hydrogenation to produce fuel oil is more difficult than medium and low temperature coal tar hydrogenation. According to traditional processing technology, the various fractions of high temperature coal tar can be further processed to separate a variety of chemical products.
