Urolithin A
Urolithin A
CAS:1143-70-0
Urolithin A is produced by the gut flora and is a metabolite of Ellagitannins, a group of compounds found in pomegranates and some other fruits and nuts.
3, 8-dihydroxy-6h-dibenzo [B,D] pyrane-6-one is also called urolixin A. A substance called UrolithinA, found in pomegranates and other fruits, may help slow certain aging processes by improving the function of cell mitochondria. In addition, there is no risk to human health from ingesting this compound. Studies have shown that urolixin A stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis in the same way as regular exercise, and is the only compound that rebuilds the cell’s recycling of defective mitochondria.
